The Foundation day is celebrated on September 27th of every year. It is done through a unique medium - outreach.

The community invites school students in the vicinity and hosts demos, quizzes and other activities to encourage scientific spirit.

IISM
IISM is a yearly competition between all the IISERs,IISc, NISER and Institute of Atomic Energy (UM, DAE) to clinch the overall sports championship. It involves various events including track events, basketball, football, volleyball and cricket. The team that accumulates the maximum points wins the Inter-IISER sports meet.

In addition to this, an inter batch tournament is held every year for various sports.
IICM
IICM is the IISM of culturals. Again, it involves a plethora of events spanning music, dance, art, drama, writing and debate. It has acted as a platform for students to find talents other than the pursuits of science.

We celebrate a horde of cultural festivals like Onam, Pongal, Lohri, Holi, Saraswati Pujo, Deewali, Chritmas, Halloween and a lot more
jApart from these, Regular SPICMACAY events, Cultural Talks, Cultural Evenings and Inter Batch competitions also dot the academic calender at IISER Mohali.
