Examinations

Evaluation involves two ‘Mid Semester’ Examinations and one ‘End Semester’ Examination which roughly accounts for 40 and 50 percent of the total grade respectively, with a remaining 10 percent reserved for quizzes/assignments. However, professors have a lot of freedom to improvise upon the evaluation and examination structure according to their discretion. Therefore, all details about the course structure and evaluation criteria are informed to the students at the starting of the course by respective instructors.

According to one’s performance in the examination, they are awarded an ‘SPI' or Semester Performance Index out of a maximum of 10 points at the end of each semester. Average SPI of the two semesters becomes the 'CPI' or the Cumulative Grade Point Index for that year.
